Our Mission
Kesselman Clinical Associates is a group private practice conveniently located in the Main Line suburban town of Devon, Pa. Our office is located on Lancaster Avenue (Route 30) and is easily accessible by car or public transportation. Our practitioners have many areas of expertise. We work with patients of all ages, and provide a variety of counseling approaches such as individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling, parent consultations and school observations.
At Kesselman Clinical Associates our mission is to provide comprehensive counseling that empowers individuals and families.
We aim to create a comfortable atmosphere and a strong relationship by collaborating closely with each patient and family that we see. We create goals that are individually tailored to meet their specific needs.
We emphasize the initial process of counseling where feeling trust and connection is key, while also working closely to form therapeutic goals that are specific and achievable. Our approach is also strength based– we attempt to help patients and families determine the positive skills that they already possess but may have lost sight of.
Many of those we work with find that this positive approach creates the supportive environment
necessary to develop the lasting skills and use of resources in order to maintain growth and change. Some of the modalities we use are cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, family systems models, and supportive educational therapy.
We work on issues such as anxiety and phobias, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, learning issues, obsessive compulsive disorder, anger management, impulse control disorders, school avoidance and school refusal issues, and adjustment issues such as divorce, different types of loss such as death or job loss, or relocation to name a few.
What We Do
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is available for all ages. Individual counseling is aimed to help patients develop specific treatment plans and goals in order to improve their lives.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) helps clients make connections between the patterns of thinking they use, how this makes them feel, and how they behave.
Play therapy
Play therapy is often a useful method to help children express their inner thoughts and emotions.
Positive psychology
Positive psychology, similar to CBT, emphasizes positivity in thinking about ourselves and our lives.
Join the Team
Kesselman Clinical Associates is often looking to add new therapy professionals to join our team. If you are a licensed clinician such as a psychologist, social worker, or professional counselor please feel free to send us a brief description of yourself and what type of position you are seeking.
